drumroll please…….

dum duh dum tshhhh

we have a new car! This has been a LONG time coming :] My poor old lady love, Carla, (96′ Toyota Camry) has gone to be with the Lord (eh hem. I mean Carmax). She was a sweet, sweet woman, but was in major need of a nose job, boob job, full body waxing (she lost her shine years ago..), and she majorly needed to get her hurr did. But when you’re old like that you just let yourself go, so I understand it. The poor lady was booty-bumped by Jeremy’s truck Buster when  we first started dating. Of course, we were appalled the he would do such a thing to a lady much older than himself, but there was nothing we could do about it. She’s had a rusty ole spot on her ever since. Recently, she started making a girgling sound under the hood. ??? We all knew that was not good. We knew that the Lord was calling her home. We spruced her up, took her through the carwash one last time, polished the inside and drove her to the used car dealership. She knew what was coming. We said our goodbyes and had a memorial service (ok not really). She will be missed.

On Monday, we headed to the car dealership to look for Buster’s new woman. We found her (of course!).

Meet Lucille. Lucy for short. or if you are adventurous you can call her ‘L’.

She is a beautiful, black 2011 Toyota Corolla. She shines like nobody’s business. I’ve noticed other cars just pull over to the side of the road whenever we drive by. I completely understand. We are ballin’. What can I say?

(I’ll upload an actual picture of her later, she is resting for the night. everyone needs beauty sleep)

OH and one more thing! We also added yet another addition to our little family. A MacBook Pro. finally. I think I have waited for one of these just as long as I’ve waited for a new car. But it was all in due time so I just had to patiently wait. It’s perfect for the two of us. Jeremy can use it for school and I can use it for my handmade business. I can’t tell you how excited I am to be able to use that lovely program on my own computer. I usually have to borrow someone’s mac if I want to use it. Thank you to all who have lended me their computers. You are amazing. ;]

So there you have it. We have added two new lovelies to our lives and we, of course, are loving every minute of it. We are blessed.

our humble home :)

30 Jan

So here it is. Our humble “house”. I call it a “house” even though it’s just an apartment. Some think it’s silly that I call it something that it is not, but it gives me a home-y feeling when I refer to it so I just set other’s comments aside. Who cares what other’s think, right? They don’t get to live here. We do. One day we will be blessed with an actual house with a porch (hopefully big enough to have two rocking chairs or even a swing). grass, a garden to plant flowers and grow veggies, hardwood floors, a kitchen with a super cute layout, and a couple bedrooms (I would love to have a craft room). But for now, we live here. I love it and I hope you do too!

*Side note: the picture quality could be way better, but I just have to work with what I’ve got*
*Side Side note: I don’t really have anything to say here, I just wanted to write “Side Side note” ha*

Our front entry way.

The view into the kitchen from the hallway.. our “hallsquare” as we like to call it :]

Our kitchen.
We had some friends over for dessert this night :] tons of fun! On the menu was sopapilla cheesecake and fruit salad. Yum!

This is Jeremy’s great-grandmother’s hutch that his mom, Cristie, gave me. We set aside a Saturday a couple of months ago to have a face-lift party for a couple of our favorite pieces. For this one, I took off the doors because I wanted to give it more of a bookcase look and then painted it robin’s egg blue. I think it’s my favorite piece in the house! Oh, and check out my $5 flea market chair. love it!

Our living room.
It’s a constant work in progress because I change it up so much. Right now, I’m in the “inspiration stage” of this room for the 32,345th time. Since this picture was taken, I have added more things to the bare walls. I want to hear your thoughts!

Oh- and take a look at our engagement book on the coffee table made for us by the one and only Two Pair Photography. If you’re ever looking for super awesome, supercalifragilisticexpialidocious photos, use them! I have a feeling you will regret it if you don’t!

And last but not least, our infamous couch.
Isn’t it lovely? ha, stop laughing. Yes, I know it bows in the middle and yes, I know it’s very uncomfortable at times, but it’s ours and it works for now :]

So that’s our little place! I hope you had fun on the tour! I’ll show our bedroom another day, so don’t go anywhere :]

finally finished.

20 Jan

First off, I have to say that I have an addict on my hands. Not just any normal addict. A ‘Words with Friends’ addict. I think he has up to 11 games going right now. It makes me laugh because most of his opponants are actually not friends at all. They are completely random people, people who are probably half way around the world. Kinda creepy and neat at the same time if you ask me.  The only thing thats irritating is that sometimes in the middle of the night I hear a chime come from his side of the bed. What the heck, people! Go sleep! Guess I need to sign him up for an AA type meeting.

Annnnyyways, It’s almost Friday! Which means this work week is almost finished :] and that means…. sleeping in! I love sleeping in, but if I sleep too late then I waste half of the day, and right now I don’t really want to do that. Since Christmas is over and all our decorations are up in the closet, I feel like I have a blank slate again to decorate. I’m ready for our place to be finally finished, though. I still haven’t really done much to our bedroom and I’m not a big fan of that. I have tons of stuff to hang and decorate with, but it just hasn’t happened yet. I’m really going to try to start and finish that room this weekend. We’ll see how that goes. I have so many projects going right now and I have a hard time ever finishing them for some reason. I really need to work on that. One thing that I’ve almost finished is our eating and prep area (food is important in this house!).

In our kitchen we have a vinyl chalkboard right next to the pantry door. Since the day we put it up, we have had a verse written at the top that has really spoken to us during that season of our lives. Just recently, after cleaning up from Christmas, the Lord placed a new verse on my heart for Jeremy and I.

“And I am certain that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished on the day when Jesus Christ returns.” Philippians 1:6

When the verse was brought to my attention, I immediately turned to Jeremy (who was graciously folding laundry) and asked him what he thought about that verse for this season of our lives. We decided it was perfect for us! Of course, that’s how the Lord is. He’s perfect. He knows what we need, all of the time. He knows when we need a little encouragement. A little moral booster, if you will. He even knows when we need a little butt kicking. This just so happened to be a booty kick for us. We constantly talk about how we want to finish this or that, or how we wished that we were consistant in different areas of our lives. It’s a big topic for us at the dinner table or while we are lying in bed. For us, this verse meant that we need to learn not only to bring something to completion, but also to be disciplined in every nook and cranny of our being. I love having this verse in a central location in our home because it is a constant reminder to stay focused and to finish. Laziness is becoming uncommon in our home, while proaction is now the norm. I love it. I don’t think we will take this verse down for a very long time, unless of course the Lord speaks a new nugget of truth. :]

What has the Lord been teaching you during this season of your life? I’d love to hear it and be encouraged!
